Pink

And this is where the journey ends
Of promises,of expectations,of unfulfilled desires,
Of the pink dreams;
The red and white:
Unfurling and twistind round and round
Making an indistinct shape;
The red of the sun rising in my horizon
The red of the love that my heart bleeds for you
The red is you, my love.

But traces of white desecrate the body of love
The white of disillusionments and of doubts
The white of confusions and confrontations
The white of my eye...

The charcoal sun sinking in my horizon,
I reach the end of my journey...
Never reaching my destination though.

  1. You reached the end of your journey without reaching your destination? What then, defines the "end of your journey", if it is not your destination? Is it your fatigue, lassitude? Or does your demoralization ("white disillusionment") divested you of your energy to move further?

    One thing I didn't really get is, why you designate your "disillusionment of doubt", "confusion and confrontation" as "white"? Please explain that to me.

    Charcoal sun? hmm....really nice way of putting it. But as usual, I would advise you to look into the brighter side of things. And, as a student of Science (which to me is a synonym for nature studies), I can give you a piece of information------charcoal and Diamond are made of EXACTLY same things. The difference lies only in the way the constituent elements are arranged. If you can "arrange" your thoughts and feelings in an appropriate way, the "Charcoal sun" may rise the next morning with the glow of Diamond, signifying the beginning of new journey.

  2. in response to Chitrak Gupta:
    was reading your comments on my poem Pink...you asked why have i referred to my disillusionments and doubts as white.
    reason no 1.white as in purity...as in the sinless quality of my confusions,the selfless and the completely sacred purpose of my intentions and the doubts thats created in it.
    reason no 2. and this is the actual reason...."the white of my eye..."thats the last line of that stanza.white of my eye refers to the lifelessness of the eyes;where the pupils are no more vibrating and the life is gone.its the metaphor is derived from this eye to the confusions,doubts,disillusionments etc.
    and the endof the journey.....that is i have reached where i started off to reach but when i reached there i found nothing waiting for me.all the promising aspects that i had been looking forward to now no more exists.and thats why physically though the journey is over,i have not achieved what i wanted to.
    bujhli???!!!!
