The Refugee Memories

The thoughts come unimpeded
Like the burst of red ants from the volcano of the ant hill
And the stream of red that follows downhill
As they thread down in a crooked line
Searching for a new life
A new meaning
A new existence
The lava of thoughts as they pour down
Burn down the path the ants take
The trajectory of a life with sense
The red dot asks, the path is no more
How will I find the way to a new home?
The being asks, there is no more a meaning
How will I find the way back to life??

  1. Prothomei boli, excellent concerting between the post and the photo. matching dool-matching churi-matching top-matching patiala-matching bag etc r extension? :-)
on a more serious note, tell me which inspired which? chhobi ta dekhe kobita ta lekha ki? na mane....ato sundor khap kheyechhe.

are the ants your thoughts? or is it the lava? or do they signify different types of thoughts? and would it be right to surmise that "the being" is you?

going to the psychological level.....akhono lava berochhe? Visuvius o ato din dhore erupt koreni. Extending the analogy of the dry leaves giving way to the newer ones (Ref: KATHBIRALI), same analogy holds here. Volcanic eruption hoy, shohor, kokhono kokhono puro akta civilization dhongsho hoye jay. Tarpor sei dhongsho stup er oporei notun shohor/shobbhota jonmay. Like that of a Phoenix. Signifying triumph of life over death (you can refer to "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman). So, the ants have no point cribbing "there is no path". Of COURSE there isnt. And you wont find a way to a new home, because no homes exist any more. All has been destroyed. So, BUILD a new home, buddy. And ants are great at doing that.

And as far as the being is concerned......meaning in life is like dust particles. They exist everywhere, but you need to see them. I am sure cleanliness freak in you sees dust everywhere (unlike yours truly, je mase akdin jharu chalale ma dhonno hoye jay). So then....

And what do you mean "back to life"? You arent dead, are you? I know you imply that you are almost dead, or that you are in a state in between life and death. But thats the point. If you know you arent dead, you know you are alive. Even a patient in the ICCU fighting death is alive. Hiking Club er notice board e kono ak mountaineer er kotha lekha chhilo "The closer you come to death, the more you realise you are alive". So then......if you know you are in between life and death, it MEANS you are still living.

The point that I am trying to make is, dont try to "find a new home" or "find a way back to life". Build a home, and create life there (not in the biological sense, though ;-) )
